Mission Statement
100 Mile & District Arts Council is a volunteer run, community based organization dedicated to developing opportunities for area residents to experience and/or participate in creative and cultural endeavours.
Objectives
The goal of 100 Mile & District Arts Council is to enhance the quality of community life by promoting an awareness of all the arts and by encouraging the pursuit of creative excellence.
Specific objectives of the Arts Council include:
- Increasing and broadening opportunities for residents to enjoy and participate in creative and cultural events
- Helping to coordinate the work and programs of member groups involved in visual arts, performing arts, crafts and other creative endeavours
- Promoting the production, presentation and distribution of creative works throughout the area
- Fostering interest and pride in the cultural heritage of our community
Membership
Each membership has one vote and can serve on the board. There are three types of Membership:
Arts Group Membership: - Annual Fee $30
For non-profit organizations that have as their focus an artistic or cultural endeavour.
Individual Membership: - Annual Fee $15, Youth & Senior $10
For anyone who is involved with the arts or who wishes to help enhance the cultural opportunities in our community.
Business Membership: - Annual Fee $30
For local businesses who wish to support the objectives of the Arts Council.
Benefits and Expectations of Membership
Individual or Business
- The opportunity to participate in arts-related activities and serve on committees and/or the board
- Receive copies of meeting minutes
- Attend an annual gathering of Arts Council members and volunteers
- Attend general meetings (3 per year) including the AGM
- Assist with the production of the annual Winter Arts and Crafts Fair
Group
- Access to various levels of government funding
- Access to inexpensive insurance through our membership in Arts BC
- Promotion and publicizing of activities
- The opportunity to participate in arts-related activities and serve on committees and/or the board
- Assist with the production of the annual Winter Arts and Crafts Fair
- Attend general meetings (3 per year) including the AGM
Services The Arts Council Provides
- Information on grants available to Arts Group Members
- Distribution of grants to Arts Group Members
- Administration of three annual Arts Council Scholarships: LiteraryArts, Performing Arts and Visual Arts
- Information on cultural/creative projects and activities
- An opportunity to have a Web presence for Arts Member Groups

- Winter Arts & Crafts Fair (mid November)
- Festival of the Arts Recitals & Presentations
- Cariboo Artist's Guild Annual Art Show (August)
- Musical Theatre Production (March)
- Community Choir Concerts
- Music Concerts
